Nedrose School District is excited to be starting the journey of social emotional learning for all students. Social emotional learning promotes qualities such as self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. A team of teachers reviewed several options on how to deliver this content to students and decided on two programs that we feel best fit our needs. Elementary students will be using Second Step and middle and high school students will be using 7 Mindsets. All students will be a part of an SEL group that will meet weekly with a teacher who will facilitate the process. We are looking forward to the positive impact that this will have on both individual students and our entire school community. We encourage you to ask your children about SEL and what they have been doing in their groups.
